major missions.
I want the city to aggressively move forward with the proposed whitewater park. Why is it not done yet?

Embrace & Enhance the Saskatoon Beach
I want the city to embrace the Saskatoon beach. I would like to hire engineers to create a safe atmosphere around the beach (perhaps with a barrier wall enclosing the beach from the current). If the water becomes unsafe to be around such as if the water gets very high (even in the designated beach area) then the beach should be shut down. I would also like to see a large parking lot right by the beach so that people don't park along side of the road.
I realize that many people would have a serious problem with the beach idea. The thing is I would go to secluded parts of the river (by the park not far from Pinehouse Drive) and I see people in the river over there. There just doesn't seem to be a good way to police the river. I say put up "DANGER" signs all the way up and down the river, but also offer a safer option to utilize the river. It's something that seems out of our control, so create a safe option and people will more than likely choose to use the safer option.
